On April 26, 2006, "Hippest Homework Happening" was launched by Raytheon and MathMovesU.com. Professor Jonathan Farley spoke at the event. The only other speakers were U.S. Senator Ted Kennedy, U.S. Congresswoman Jo Ann Davis, Raytheon Senior Vice President for Strategy Bill Lynn, Professor Sarah Greenwald, and Olympic gold medalist Apolo Ohno . The event took place outside the Capitol Building in Washington, D.C.
