Judging

Essays will be evaluated both on their style and substance. Finalists will undergo an interview to satisfy judges that they grasp the material they have submitted.

(Judges retain the final right to determine which schools are eligible.) Essays must be no longer than 20 double-spaced one-sided pages (excluding diagrams), or 5,000 words; any exceptions must be approved by the judges in advance.

The cover page must only contain the contestant's name, address, telephone number, email address, and school information, including teacher's name, school address, telephone number and fax number. Students may only submit one entry.

Electronic submissions are preferred. Entries must be received by February 17, 2008.
